2018 Nationals Recap and Running a Meet w/Meet Director Anna Martin

Welcome back to another episode of the USA Weightlifting Podcast. This week, we’re joined by the 2018 National Championships Meet Director, Anna Martin, as we not only talk about some of our favorite lifters from the competition, but also discuss the “behind the scenes” and obstacles of running a meet. Aside from meet director, Anna does it all from coaching athletes of all ages and levels (over 50 to and at the national level), to being a part of the USAW Competition Committee, to competing herself (since 1994) with recent wins at the Masters Pan-Am and Masters World Championships. Through these experiences she gives great insight on training athletes and encouraging them to stay at it, delivering a message of “go out and have fun” with a palpable passion for the sport that we all share. Enjoy the show!
