Ep 216: Sex Positivity, Sex Ed Now and for the Future, Women of Color & Sexuality with Sex Educator Bianca Laureano. I was fortunate to have an enlightening and interesting chat with certified sex educator Bianca, the supervisor and founder of the Ante Up Professional development course for sex educators and sexuality professionals. She teaches sexologists and other professionals. She shared her amazing experiences, insights, and wisdom. She discussed how she works a lot with the youth and learning about gender. She discussed how we all need to unlearn cis supremacy and shame, and all the poor sex ed we all received as kids. I love her statement "Sex positivity has no space for shame." She elaborated on the topic of shame. She also talked about abortion topics and the need for proper sex education for workers to provide appropriate care. We talked about women of color and sexuality for today and some history around this topic as well. She also shed light on how disabled and elderly people are excluded from body autonomy and sexual expression and/or enjoyment. She also pointed out how therapy has changed from a view of needing to change people with regard to their sexual orientation to a way of acceptance and support. She also talked about cultural views on sex and sex positivity. There is still so much work to be done.
