Snohomish County Jane Doe

Snohomish County Jane Doe

On August 14th, 1977, a pair of blackberry pickers were walking in a wooded area of Everett, Washington - nearby Mariner High School and Paine Field. There, they found the decomposing body of a young woman, who had been brutally murdered. Over the next week, police focused in their investigation on a single suspect: a man named David Marvin Roth, who had confessed to a friend (and who had also been arrested a few days after the murder on unrelated charges). Eventually, Roth would be convicted for the murder of this young woman... whose identity remained a mystery. Investigators have yet to figure out who she was, and what events led her to encounter Roth on the day of her murder... Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal WhelanLearn more about this podcast at unresolved.me If you would like to support this podcast and others, consider heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron Music CreditsRest You Sleeping Giant - "Themes From Frost"Scott Holmes - "Feeling Sunny"noiseonport - "Spectre"ROZKOL - "Monkey and Moulage"Borrtex - "Peaceful Mind"Parvus Decree - "Thoughts About Future"Daniel James Dolby - "Yearning"Rotten Bliss - "Two Sisters"Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/unresolved--3266604/support.

The Texarkana Moonlight Murders (Part Two: The Town That Dreaded Sundown)

The Texarkana Moonlight Murders (Part Two: The Town That Dreaded Sundown)

In May of 1946, a violent crime unfolds just outside of Texarkana. A farm owner and his wife are shot multiple times by a mysterious attacker, who seems to have disappeared into thin air. While the assault bears a resemblance to a recent string of murders in Texas, it features a number of notable outliers; outliers which make investigators hesitant to officially name it a part of the recent spree.Over the next several decades, this case would grow cold. The murders would inspire an endless amount of theories, urban legends, copycats, and even a cult film, but the perpetrator - Texarkana's mysterious "Phantom Killer" - would never be identified.Part two of two Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal WhelanLearn more about this podcast at unresolved.meIf you would like to support this podcast and others, consider heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a PatronThis episode features a promo from my buddy Erica, who hosts the podcast Southern Fried True Crime Music CreditsAndrew Reddy - "Ossuary"Astral Shit - "Vindicta (Lost Radio Reshape)"Daniel James Dolby - "Longing"Koen Daigaku - "EPV 174 Trailer"Elisa Luu - "Piano 5-1"ROZKOL - "Redrick's Lament"The Pangolins - "The Stream"Parvus Decree - "Thoughts About Future"Freddy The Indifferents - "Thousand And One Christmases (Instrumental)"Joao Picoito - "Untitled"Other original music created by Ailsa TravesBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/unresolved--3266604/support.

The Texarkana Moonlight Murders (Part One: The Phantom)

The Texarkana Moonlight Murders (Part One: The Phantom)

Texarkana is a metropolitan area that is split between Texas and Arkansas. In the 1940's, as World War Two began raging overseas, the area became a hotbed of manufacturing and storage for the war effort.Just months after the end of the war - in February of 1946 - a masked menace began lashing out at young couples in lovers' lanes. The first two victims lived to tell their tale, but the next several victims wouldn't be as lucky. As the hunt began to find this madman, the case would attract the attention of county, state, and even federal officials. Eventually, the killer perpetrating these acts would earn a nickname: the Phantom.Part one of two Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal WhelanLearn more about this podcast at unresolved.meIf you would like to support this podcast and others, consider heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a PatronThis episode features a promo from my friends over at the Gone Cold podcast Music CreditsGallery Six - "Hydroscope"Andrew Reddy - "A Breath"Magna Ingress - "Shattered Dreams"Rotten Bliss - "Under The Branches"Marcos H. Gustave

Gustave

Starting in 1987, villagers in the central African nations of Rwanda, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) began to float rumors of a vicious crocodile haunting the Ruzizi River. This crocodile - a large male Nile Crocodile - was spotted several times over the next several decades. Eventually, his fearsome appearance and ferocity made him an urban legend throughout the region.Named Gustave by herpetologist Patrice Faye, this crocodile has become a reminder that monsters still roam the Earth. He is rumored to have killed more than 300 people, making him one of the most fearsome killers in history... This is a small bonus episode to help tide you over until Unresolved returns in a couple of weeks. Andrya DeGhelder

Andrya DeGhelder

On the evening of July 24th, 2018 - a Wednesday - 39-year old Andrya DeGhelder was a no-show for her shift at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center. This was very unlike Andrya, a divorced mother of one, who had a reputation for being reliable and punctual. Her coworkers contacted a friend, who tried to get in-touch with Andrya. Eventually, after paying Andrya an unsuccessful house call, this friend contacted the local sheriff's office, who paid a visit to Andrya's home in Grovetown, Georgia. There, police would find a chaotic crime scene, which they believe pointed to an abduction. Over the next week or so, investigators and volunteers would work to raise awareness for Andrya's disappearance, highlighting her past struggles, but a shocking discovery just a week later would shock this quiet community... Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal WhelanLearn more about this podcast at unresolved.meIf you would like to support this podcast and others, consider heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron Music CreditsChris Zabriskie - "Oxygen Garden"A.A. The Zip Gun Bomber

The Zip Gun Bomber

On May 7th, 1982, 54-year old Joan Kipp returned home from her job as a guidance counselor. She was planning to spend the weekend away with her husband, at their Connecticut summer home, to celebrate Mother's Day. But when she arrived home, she saw that she had received a package in the mail: a cookbook, which she believed to be an early Mother's Day gift.Unfortunately for Joan, the cookbook had been hollowed out. Inside, a three-barreled "zip gun" had been created, which shot out at her as soon as she opened it.Joan would become the only casualty of an unknown assailant, who mailed out several of these packages between 1982 and 1996. Despite police developing a couple of leads, they were never able to determine the identity of the Zip Gun Bomber... or their motives... Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal WhelanLearn more about this podcast at unresolved.meIf you would like to support this podcast and others, consider heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron Music CreditsLee Rosevere - "Breathing"ROZKOL - "Spider's Web"Sann Gusmo - "Sono Sonho Pausa"ROZKOL - "Turn the Whole World to Rust"Joao Picoito - "Third Floor"Vitus Von Degen - "Black Gloves"Blue Dot Sessions - "Levanger"Dexter Britain - "Seeing the Future"Ailsa Traves - "Unresolved Mysteries"Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/unresolved--3266604/support.

Satoshi Nakamoto

Satoshi Nakamoto

On November 1st, 2008, a 9-page whitepaper found its way online. Titled "Bitcoin: A Peer-To-Peer Electronic Cash System," the whitepaper's author clearly articulated their goal to create a decentralized digital currency. The only catch was: this author, named "Satoshi Nakamoto," was a complete unknown. Whoever they were, they had registered a domain for "bitcoin.org" in August of that year, and the publication of this whitepaper predated the official launch of Bitcoin by a mere two months. In the decade since, Bitcoin has grown to be the world's leading cryptocurrency. However, its founder remains a complete enigma, despite becoming one of the wealthiest individuals in the entire world... Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal WhelanSpecial thanks to the host of the podcast Swindled for their participationLearn more about this podcast at unresolved.meIf you would like to support this podcast and others, consider heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron Music CreditsVitus Von Degen - "Black Gloves"ROZKOL - "To the Water's Edge"Chris Zabriskie - "Air Hockey Saloon"ROZKOL - "Happiness, Free, For Everyone, and Let No One Be Forgotten"Chris Zabriskie - "Oxygen Garden"Graham Bole - "Nae Shaam"Artem Bemba - "Respiratory Waves"BOPD - "New England is Interesting"ROZKOL - "Cold Breath in the Alleyway"Blear Moon - "Cold Summer Landscape"ROZKOL - "Turn the Whole World to Rust"Ailsa Traves - "Unresolved Mysteries"Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/unresolved--3266604/support.

Siriyakorn "Bung" Siriboon

Siriyakorn "Bung" Siriboon

In the mid-2000's, an Australian man named Fred Pattison moved to Thailand. He had recently fallen in love with a Thai woman named Vanidda, who had two daughters from a prior marriage: Siri ("Pang") and Siriyakorn ("Bung").In 2008, the family moved to the area of Melbourne, Victoria. They began working towards a better future, and the two girls - Pang and Bung - began attending Australian schools (which they hoped would give them a leg up in the future). All was fine for a time, until the morning of June 2nd, 2011. At around 8:15 that morning, Bung left for school; a walk that normally took her ten minutes. In the distance between her home and school, she disappeared... and has not been seen since. Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal WhelanLearn more about the podcast at unresolved.meIf you would like to support this podcast and others, consider heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron Music CreditsAilsa Traves - "Third Corridor"Artem Bemba - "Red Shore"Graham Bole - "We Are One"Blue Dot Sessions - "Olivia Wraith"ROZKOL - "Hell Slime"noiseonport - "Spectre"Kai Engel - "After Midnight"Magna Ingress - "Anahata I"Forlon - "Roembden Crater"Daniel James Dolby - "Longing"Ailsa Traves - "Unresolved"Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/unresolved--3266604/support.
