Inside Edition for Monday, August 11, 2025

We begin with a dramatic nighttime police chase in Los Angeles, with the bad guys hijacking one vehicle after another. Even a tanker truck- filled with milk! Things got really crazy when the bad guys started going the wrong way on the freeway nearly colliding with other drivers. And bloodshed and squalor- that's how President Trump is describing our nation’s Capitol while defending his decision to send FBI agents to patrol the streets. Soon, 800 National Guard troops will also be fighting crime in DC. But the city's mayor says say crime is actually down in the city. Les Trent is in Washington with the latest. Plus, it was a fireball in the sky that had everyone looking up. Turns out it was a cherry-tomato-sized meteorite that crashed right into a home in Georgia. Alison Hall spoke with a scientist and wait until you hear how old he says this piece of space rock is. And, you know it’s a big no-no on planes-- smoking or vaping in the cabin. That's why when a man was caught taking a puff in the bathroom, he was called out by a flight attendant. Jim Moret spoke with the passenger who is not getting a lot of sympathy today for the way he acted. Inside Edition reports…There’s been concern that the president and vice president might have been exposed to the virus after an attendee at last week’s CPAC tested positive for coronavirus. The president has continued to use Twitter to comment on the health crisis…and he’s coming under criticism for some of those comments. For example, the president said he didn’t know people actually died from the flu. Which is surprising because his own grandfather died because of it. Prom night is always special…and it was especially poignant for Kobe Bryant’s family over the weekend. And Inside Edition takes a look at some foods that could boost your immunity during the coronavirus scare. Inside Edition reports -- A bipartisan committee of Congress has reached agreement to provide $8 billion dollars to fight coronavirus. The funding comes as the U.S. has 100 confirmed cases of coronavirus. It’s a number which now includes the family members and neighbor of a 50-year-old attorney who works in New York. Presidential hopeful Joe Biden is feeling pretty good today after his strong showing on Super Tuesday. He should also be feeling pretty good about his wife Jill. She didn't waste any time when a protester got a little too close for comfort. It's been one year since Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek announced that he was battling stage four pancreatic cancer. Now he has taped a special message to let his fans know how he's doing. And of all the jobs you could have in the world, Inside Edition bets one could be number one on your list of jobs you don’t want.
