Pick Up the Phone: An Essential Skill to Recession-Proof Yourself with Gerry Hill

In this episode of the Outbound Sales No Fluff Podcast, Ryan is joined by Gerry Hill, EMEA Regional Vice President of ConnectandSell. Gerry mentions that many junior sellers and SDRs today have never experienced being in an environment where the buyers' mindset has shifted to job preservation.

Ryan discusses his early career and not having systems and data as advanced as what we have today. He talks about how, even in a recession, it works to just pick up the phone and make the calls no matter if you're in preservation mode or optimistic mode. He also shares his insight on the rise of a new generation of reps focusing more on the sales tech stack.

Ryan: "At the end of the day, when things get tougher and tougher, if you're an individual at a company who can actually pick up the phone and generate a hundred percent attribution, without any question you'll always have a position. The economy has to run regardless if it's good or bad so there's going to be opportunities."
