Cecilia is an assistant dean and English composition instructor. From her first exposure to fasting concepts in 2014 to her struggles with dieting and weight gain that began during college, Cecilia reflects on her evolving relationship with food, her body, and fitness. She discusses the impact of societal expectations on body image, her experiences during pregnancy, and the importance of self-acceptance. Through becoming a runner and also adopting healthier habits, Cecilia transformed her mindset and body, ultimately embracing her unique journey. She shares her experiences through pregnancy, motherhood, divorce, and her introduction to the clean fast. Cecilia also highlights her pursuit of education and career goals while navigating health challenges and relationships in midlife. Her story emphasizes resilience, the impact of intermittent fasting on health, and the importance of listening to one's body. To end the episode, Cecilia shares this advice for new intermittent fasters: commit to the clean fast, work through the 28-day fast start, and give your body 4-6 weeks to adapt.
