05. Minisode: Wellness Myths & Navigating the Medical Maze with Nicole Fiscella

Real talk minisode! I’m sitting down with my longtime friend Nicole Fiscella, to chat about what’s on our minds these days – from teaching kids about truly healthy eating to the struggles of discovering new food allergies as adults. Sucks! Beyond food, we dig into my recent chat with Bea Dixon, expanding on the topic of medical gaslighting. As women, how many times have we felt unheard in the medical world? And that’s just the tip of the iceberg – there’s so much more I can’t wait to explore with Nicole.

Guest Bio:

Since wrapping her character, Isabel Coates, on the iconic television show Gossip Girl, actor-model Nicole Fiscella, MS, CNS has lived internationally, earned a Master’s degree in nutrition, and started a family. Nicole - a New Yorker in heart and origin - changed pace and now resides in Boulder, Colorado with her husband of 13 years and 3 young children.

Nicole is on a mission for herself and like-minded women who feel ready for a new chapter. In order to navigate the path towards overall health and wellness, Nicole leans into connecting her nutrition background with current mental health modalities.

Nicole discusses:

  • The challenge of deciphering misleading food labels and ensuring our kids eat truly healthy snacks.
  • Issues women face in the medical system, from systemic challenges to medical gaslighting.
  • The vital role of self-advocacy and preparation in medical appointments for improved care.
