You’ll hear how he had a big health scare at the age of 30 when he was diagnosed with juvenile type 1 diabetes. Yes, you heard that right. 594: How do you treat yourself like a high performer?
A short message from Zig Zigalr where he asks the question, “If you owned a million dollar race horse, would you keep it up half the night, giving it booze, cigarettes and junk food? And if you did, how many races would it win? Would you treat your dog or cat that way? What about...yourself. It’s a short, hard hitting message. From it we asked on Facebook, this question, “What are three key ways you take good care of your physical and mental well-being, treating yourself like a high-valued performer?" We got a truck load of responses. Tom Ziglar shared our own “keys” and read through a lot of responses. On that note, I invite you to join these weekly discussions, come friend me on Facebook at agentkmiller.com. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

593: Ryan Levesque is solving all the world’s problems
This show is for all of you who have a product or service to offer...or who want to someday. You, like me, are working hard to create something people want, right? You build and create something, then go out and offer it to the world! And hope...you got it right. What if you could just ASK people what they want, then provide it to them as they exchange millions of their dollars for what you have to offer? Today we talk with Ryan Levesque. He’s become famous with his Ask Method. However, it’s not really that easy. To ask people what they want, assumes they know what they want. And we often don’t. We usually don’t...not fully. But we do know...what we don’t want. Or we know what problems we deal with that we wish would be solved. That is the punchline. Kind of. You also can’t just ask anyone...not even anyone in your audience or demographic. You have to ask the right people. So we have an incredibly simple concept, that is not super easy to figure out. But if you do...when you do...it has proven to be a magic touch. In this conversation, we first hear Ryan’s story, what took him from a young guy studying neuroscience...because his parents wanted him to get a “secure degree”, to making 6 figures for a big insurance company, to ditching it all to sell jewelry from China made out of Scrabble pieces and origami, to a few more things and then to significant fame and success with his ASK Method, which we get into because it’s just...brilliant. Actually, I’d really implore you to go see what he’s doing in his once in a year offering by going to askmethod.com/ziglar . You’ll find the majority of the entire Ziglar team participating, but as students. Ryan has used the ASK Method to help build multi-million dollar businesses in 23 different industries, generating over $100 million dollars in sales in the process and his student entrepreneurs have used the ASK Method in thousands of different industries to launch and scale their businesses online. 592: You are at the top when...
Zig gives us his perspective on what it means to not only get to the top, but go...over the top. This is a significant charge from Zig that comes from a meaningful personal experience in his life. It is a heart and paradigm change on success. From it he gave us a list of 15 ideals that he believes are signs of being “over the top”. I took all 15 and posted them on Facebook asking folks, “Where is your Achilles’ heel? Below are 15 points from Zig Ziglar. I’m sure many of you, like me, are doing well in many of these areas. I’m asking…which of the 15 do you feel you struggle with most? Don’t take too long, try to answer with your gut reaction. I’ll go first.” Tom Ziglar and I talked through all the responses and started off by sharing our own Achilles’ heel, you may be surprised to hear what Tom’s is. Learn more about your ad choices. 591: Ed DeCosta on killing self-limiting gremlins
Let’s talk about getting you to your full potential. Literally our topics in this show are dealing with your inner critic, imaginary obstacles and self limiting beliefs. The real culprits between our desires and actually taking action towards them...are generally those three “gremlins” as our guest would say. That guest is Ed DeCosta, an author and executive coach. He works with C level executives, giving them a safe place to talk about their...gremlins. The fears and insecurities and limiting issues in their own psyche. This gives him profound insights into real life issues that hold people, even those top performers, back. It’s incredibly eye opening folks. A bit more about Ed...Ed DeCosta is author of ‘Ascend’: A Coach’s Roadmap For Taking Your Performance To New Heights, and ‘Release Your Superhero’: How To Shed the Villains and Soar in Business and in Life. Ed is also President of Catalyst Associates LLC, an executive coaching and management consulting firm. Ed’s focus is to help clients become more effective leaders, enabling them to meet their personal and business objectives. Clients range from small entrepreneurial ventures to Fortune 500 corporations. In his corporate life, Ed managed worldwide sales and marketing teams and opened offices on three continents. He is presently working as a partner with best-selling author and leadership guru John C. Maxwell, serving as one of the faculty members in the Maxwell Leadership Development Program. 590: Believe in what you’re selling
We hear from Zig Ziglar on a message about the necessity to truly believe in what you are selling. Literally, the product or service you are selling, you must be a customer of yourself and fully believe in if you want to succeed in selling it. It’s a great, personal story Zig shares from his own sales experience in a 3.5 min clip. From the message I posted this question on Facebook, QUESTION: “Do you sell a product or service that you are a customer of? And if you are in an MLM company, did you or would you truly buy it if you weren’t involved in the business side?” We got a lot of responses, and a lot from MLM folks, which will make for an interesting conversation. You’ll hear that he writes a love letter to his wife...every day, and how it’s changed his perception of her. And that he “Works like a dog so he can play like a puppy.” It was a great conversation. 588: Zig on Focus, Planning & Prep
Zig Ziglar on the power of focus, planning and preparation. I’ll tell you, I’m admittedly NOT a great planner and preparer, I just want to go from idea to selling it. And for focus, my wife the brain researcher says I’m classic ADHD, though I won’t let them test me. However, to achieve success, you’ve got to have some focus, planning and prep. So I asked this question on Facebook, “Planning is necessary. But for those of you who do NOT enjoy planning and preparing (like me) and are just eager to get to the doing, what tools, strategies or habits do you use to help with your needed planning and preparations?” We had great comments and ideas to this and I talked through them with my co host Michelle Prince.
