Today's episode is the last in our 3-part series on animals, baby animals, and more (see Episodes 60 and 59)! Finally, today we get to the "more" - what are some of the collective nouns Spanish speakers use when referring to animals? While it's not nearly as complex as the list we have in English, there are still a good number to go over. We'll also discuss some of English's more unique collective nouns, and finish up our Cultural Tips on Peru!Remember, learning a language is a lifelong journey.¡Aprovéchalo, Disfrútalo y Compártelo!SHOW NOTES© 2021 by Language Answers, LLCBlog for Episode 61Intro and Closing Music by Master_Service from FiverrCultural Tip Transition Music edited from song by JuliusH from PixabayResource LinksEpisode ContentEpisode 60: Animals, Baby Animals, and More, Part 2Episode 59: Animals, Baby Animals, and More, Part 1Episodio 59: Los Nombres Colectivos de Animales, Pt. 3 Y Final"Los Sustantivos Colectivos, Lista de Ejemplos y Su Significado"by Los Sustantivos Colectivos, Lista de Ejemplos y Su Significado, published in Spain, March 1994, uploaded by Rough Cibernus to Scribd"A gaggle, a confusion and a conspiracy - bizarre animal collective group names" by BBC on June 6, 2019"20 Interesting Names For Groups Of Animals" by World Atlas"85 Nombres Colectivos para Animales en Inglés" by Dilo En Inglés on October 4, 2018"What to call a group of animals?" by Farmer's Almanac for Kids, on September 17, 2019"A ‘murder of crows’ and other collectives" on May 6, 2015 by Macquarie Dictionary, by Macmillan Publishers Australia 2021"Collective nouns for animals" by Macquarie Dictionary, by Macmillan Publishers Australia 2021Movies mentioned (these are NOT affiliate links): -Disney and/or Pixar: Finding Nemo and The Lion King-The Mask of Zorro"Murmuration" de Merriam-Webster Online DictionaryDiccionario de la lengua española, Online, by the Real Academia Española (RAE), 2021WordReference.comCollins Spanish-English Dictionary, Online, Collins 2021"Manada" and "Colonia (biología)" from Wikipedia"Lista de colectivos de animales" from Wikilengua del español"Bandada, manada y jauría" from Raz-Kids"¿Cómo se ven las medusas?" by ES.411ANSWERS.COM 2021"What Is A Group Of Pigs Called? – Do You Really Know?" by Gardening Dream on August 19, 2021Cultural TipEpisode 58: Second 2021 Special - Chile's Fiestas Patrias!"12 Peruvian Festivals, One for Each Month!" from Active Adventures Blog"Marinera Peruana Conquista Italia | Bellísimo Flashmob Milán 2019" by METAMORFOSIS Pro, uploaded to YouTube on July 30, 2019"FLASH MOB DE MARINERA NORTEÑA EN ROMA-ITALIA 2021| BICENTENARIO DEL PERU (PIAZZA DELLA REPUBBLICA)" by Eduardo Sanchez Marinera, uploaded to YouTube on July 29, 2021"Tutorial de Marinera Norteña" Playlist created by DelNorteSoy on YouTube"THE MARINERA: AN INTERVIEW WITH MARCELA GANOZA" by ARACARI Travel, December 7, 2019"Aprende a bailar marinera" by Ministerio de Educación del Perú, uploaded to YouTube April 21, 2020"Fiesta de la Virgen de la Candelaria es considerada patrimonio cultural inmaterial de la humanidad" by TVPerú Noticias, uploaded to YouTube on February 4, 2018"Procesión Taytacha de los Temblores Cusco 2018" by CatFly Films, uploaded to YouTube on March 30, 2018"Fiesta de la Candelaria" by Peru Hop, updated in 2021"Holy Week in Cusco: The Lord of Earthquakes" by Best Peru Tours on March 30, 2018

Episode 59: Animals, Baby Animals, and More, Part 1
While reading books to my little girl, I asked myself, "Do we talk a lot about the different animal names in Spanish?" While I originally thought that all you had to do in Spanish was add "ito" or "ita" to make an animal a baby (such as perrito for perro and gatito for gato), after doing some research I've found that there are, in fact, different, more specific animal names in Spanish. Hence this new three-part series on animal names, with the first two episodes focusing on the specific terms for animals and their babies, followed by the final episode focusing on collective names (group names, like herd or flock). I hope you enjoy it! Or at the very least, that it equips you to help teach the little ones in your life the different animal names in Spanish. :)*Also, I messed up in this episode. I said a duckling in Spanish was pavipollo or pavezno, but those are actually terms for baby turkey, or poult. I don't know why, but I have been struggling with mixing those two animals. They are completely different, I know! But there it is. Duckling is el patito or anadón, since ánade means duck as well. Sorry for the confusion!* Remember, learning a language is a lifelong journey.¡Aprovéchalo, Disfrútalo y Compártelo!SHOW NOTES© 2021 by Language Answers, LLCBlog for Episode 59Intro and Closing Music by Master_Service from FiverrCultural Tip Transition Music edited from song by JuliusH from PixabayResource LinksEpisode Content"Baby Animal Name's Glossary" by The Animal Facts"Baby Animals" by Animal Facts Encyclopedia"Los animales en inglés y español – 140 animales y más" by Daniel Welsch from Aprende más inglés: habla como un nativo"Baby animal names | Nombres en inglés de los animales bebés" by Crianza Bilingüe"Nombres de crías de animales - Lista con fotos" by Náyade Quero Rocamora for Experto Animal, updated March 2, 2021"Gazapo" from the RAE online"Monarch Butterfly Life Cycle" by Ask a Biologist for ASU"Ciclo de vida de las mariposas" by Nick A.
