2025 Mexico City Grand Prix Banter | Box Box Banter

🇲🇽 Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen are robbed by the VSC as F1 neutralises a thrilling finish, while Lando Norris is booed after taking the lead in the Drivers' Championship.

In this episode, the Box Box Banter podcast reviews the Mexico City GP. The race was tense with serious championship implications, but ultimately, the fans were robbed of some late-race action with a phantom VSC being called in the dying stages of the race. Possibly an overreaction to Liam Lawson almost hitting track marshals on the circuit earlier in the race.

The controversial VSC allowed Charles Leclerc to keep Max Verstappen behind him, giving Lando Norris some breathing space in the title fight. It also allowed Ollie Bearman to hold off a late-charging Oscar Piastri for 4th place, meaning the Aussie would lose his championship lead to Lando by 1 point.

Bearman showed some superb form in his HAAS, getting his best career result and equalling the team's best placement in Formula 1. Elsewhere, Lewis Hamilton received a 10-second penalty for leaving the track and gaining an advantage, a harsh penalty considering how many drivers had made the same mistake. George Russell gave us some radio gold as he fought with his team to make Kimi Antonelli move over for the Brit, but the team was reluctant to do so, leaving him exposed and panicked about having a McLaren in his a**.
