In this episode, we wade through the heartache of family estrangement with our latest guest Millie. As we sit with Millie, we uncover the deep-seated intricacies of her role as a grandmother, whose love for her grandchild is entangled in a thorny relationship with her daughter-in-law.

What started off as providing a home and childcare to her son's family, turned into shifting boundaries, dehumanization, and isolation within her own home. At some points, Millie was barely allowed upstairs, and not even acknowledged with the decency of a hello.

Millie's story exposes the maze of grandparent alienation and the relentless pursuit to maintain a thread of connection despite the harsh reality of manipulation and control.
