Ep 16: The Hinterkaifeck Murders

Ep 16: The Hinterkaifeck Murders

In March 1922, six members of the Gruber family and their maid were murdered on a remote farmstead in Bavaria.

The crime scene showed signs that someone had been watching the property before the attack. Footprints in the snow led to the house — but not away from it. Neighbors reported unusual sounds from the attic in the days leading up to the murders.

The bodies were discovered days later. Evidence suggested the perpetrator may have remained on the farm after the killings.

Despite extensive investigation, no one was ever convicted.

More than a century later, the Hinterkaifeck murders remain one of Germany’s most enduring unsolved cases.
