Emily Atkins: Navigating pregnancy & motherhood when your identity has always been tied to training.

Emily Atkins joins us this week for a very real conversation about fitness, pregnancy, and navigating motherhood when your identity has always been tied to training.

Emily shares how quickly fitness became a huge part of her life — and how challenging it was when pregnancy turned everything she knew upside down.

  • The unexpected reality of pregnancy vs. what we see online
  • Losing routine, identity, and control when you can’t train the way you used to
  • The mental health impact of stepping away from fitness
  • Postpartum recovery — including things no one talks about (pelvic floor, prolapse & the importance of getting checked)
  • Body image, mum guilt, and the pressure to “just enjoy it”
  • Learning that you can love your baby and still want time for yourself


Emily is incredibly open about both the highs and the lows — from feeling at her most feminine during pregnancy, to being in survival mode, to rebuilding her relationship with fitness postpartum.
