#104 Monica & Isabel Hebner - From D1 Athletes to Olympic Trial Marathoners, Keeping Running Fun at an Elite Level

On this episode, the boys had on special guests Monica and Isabel Hebner! Monica and Isabel are identical twins and also both happen to be elite marathoners training with Bat City Track Club (coached by Jeff Cunningham) in Austin, TX. They both qualified for the Olympic Marathon Trials in 2024. Before running with Bat City, both Monica and Isabel were D1 athletes, both finishing their careers at UT-Austin (they initially went to Duke and UPenn).

We had a lot to talk about on this one! Both recently competed in CIM, with Isabel running 2:37 and Monica 2:32. Isabel was forced to crawl at times the last couple miles of the race, and still managed to finish in 2:37! Up next for them is the McKirdy Marathon in New York this March, where they plan to go sub 2:30!!!

We also talked about being coached by Jeff, living and training in Austin, what they do for their full-time jobs, ambitions of getting shoe contracts, and more!

This episode was really fun, the Hebners are very outgoing (we think they should start a podcast) and this conversation flew by. We will definitely be having them back on! Enjoy!
