Imani Black is an African American oyster farmer who was born and raised on the eastern shore of Maryland. She comes from a long family history of watermen that dates back over 200 years. In 2020, she founded Minorities In Aquaculture, a non-profit that strives to provide support and useful aquaculture education to underrepresented demographics to ensure a better future for aquaculture.
