Jacob had spent nearly fifteen years working emergency calls and believed there was an explanation for everything.

Then a woman named Anna died in front of him.

Months later, while treating a teenager pulled unconscious from a swimming pool, he saw her standing quietly beneath a tree. The sight made no sense. Anna was dead. Jacob knew that better than anyone.

Then it happened again. And again.

Over the following years, the woman in the blue coat appeared at some of the most hopeless scenes of his career—cardiac arrests, catastrophic accidents, and medical emergencies where survival seemed increasingly unlikely.
