Nick Reiner’s Own Lawyers Filed a Document That Reads Like a Motive — Did They Mean To?

Nick Reiner’s defense team filed a 136-page probate petition demanding the release of more than $1.5 million from a trust his parents created when he was born. The petition lays out a date — September 14, 2023, Nick’s thirtieth birthday. A dollar amount — reportedly more than $750,000 owed on that date alone. And two people who controlled the money and ended up dead twenty-seven months later. Nobody on the defense side intended to create a motive timeline. But that’s exactly what the filing reads like.

The trust language reportedly says “mandatory and unconditional.” No discretion. No conditions. The new trustee, Jodi Montgomery, has reportedly requested to visit Nick in jail. Alan Jackson’s firm declared they’re ready to come back the moment the check clears. And the question nobody has answered is why Rob and Michele Reiner never paid their son the money their own document said he was owed.

Nick has pleaded not guilty. Under the presumption of innocence, the petition argues the money is lawfully his until a jury decides otherwise.
