A polarizing flight through the DCU and a high-seas adventure that has us ready to set sail all over again! This week on Keeping Up With The Nerds, we are breaking down a mixed-bag comic book adaptation before diving headfirst into the future of the Grand Line.

First up, we're taking a look at Supergirl. The internet has had plenty to say, but we’re stepping in to ask: is it really that bad? We discuss why it actually functions as a perfectly okay film for the building blocks of the DCU, and why the fanboy internet outrage might be overdoing it just a little bit this time around.

Then, the hype is real! Netflix dropped the official trailer and announcement for their highly anticipated One Piece anime reboot. Given how absolutely incredible their live-action adaptation turned out, the crew is equally ecstatic to see what they do with this fresh animated retelling. We dissect the art style, the pacing expectations, and why East Blue is about to look better than ever.

In this Issue:

🦸‍♀️ Is It a Bird? Is It a Plane? It's... Just Okay: Our realistic breakdown of Supergirl and why the audience reaction needs a reality check.

🏴‍☠️ The Grand Line Gets a Face Lift: Our full, hype-filled reaction to Netflix's One Piece anime reboot trailer.
