Episode 336: 4 Things Helping Me Heal After Loss

Episode 336: 4 Things Helping Me Heal After Loss

Grief is a strange thing to show up for publicly when you're still right in the middle of it, and honestly, parts of what I'm going through right now feel so private and so deep that I'm not even sure I have the language for it yet.

But I felt called to share, because some of this might help someone.

A few weeks ago I recorded an episode about losing Huxley unexpectedly on Memorial Day. If you haven't heard that one yet, go back and listen first. This episode is what's come after and what I've leaned into to heal and process my loss.

It feels like I'm in the middle of a big spiritual awakening. Something about grief this deep, when you actually let yourself feel it instead of escaping it, has a way of shaking loose everything you thought you knew about yourself. My values, my worldview, my identity, how I want to show up in this work is all up for questioning.

In this episode I'm sharing four specific things that have been genuinely helping me move through loss.

IN THIS EPISODE

  • Why I deleted the games off my phone and started auditing where I was unconsciously checking out
  • The 14 books I read last month and why grief sent me deep into Jungian analysis, shamanic practices, and dream interpretation
  • What dream interpretation has opened up for me, including a dream where Huxley showed me something I needed to hear
  • The signs Huxley keeps sending me and why I've stopped dismissing what my intuition points to
  • The February knowing I had about Huxley's time, and what that's taught me about trusting what I feel even when my logical brain argues back
  • Why writing, including poetry that I haven't written since high school, has been the most healing thing of all
  • What writing my second book from a coffee shop overlooking the ocean has felt like during all of this

Thank you for the outpouring of love and messages since the last episode. Over four hundred of you reached out to share your love and sympathy. It has meant everything. This community is something I don't take for granted.
