Welcome to the very first episode of The Life During And After GLP-1 Podcast hosted by Daryl Perry of Your Level Fitness.

In this opening episode, Daryl breaks down what GLP-1 medications actually do inside the body and why so many people are experiencing success with them. As a fitness professional with decades of experience in both the fitness industry and marketing, Daryl explores the science behind these medications while also explaining the behavioral and lifestyle opportunities they create for people who have struggled with weight loss for years.

GLP-1 medications work by mimicking a natural hormone in the body that helps regulate appetite and blood sugar. For many people this means feeling full sooner, staying full longer, and experiencing less food noise throughout the day. These changes can create breathing room for people who have spent years feeling like they were constantly battling hunger or cravings.

But the medication itself is only one part of the equation.

In this episode Daryl explains how GLP-1 medications can also influence the emotional reward system connected to food. Many people notice that their relationship with food shifts. Food may feel less emotionally charged, which can make it easier to follow through on an eating plan built around personal preferences rather than restriction.

Most importantly, Daryl emphasizes that GLP-1 medications are a tool, not a shortcut. They can make weight loss easier, but lasting success still comes from building habits, creating structure, and developing an inside/out relationship with health and fitness. The goal is not just losing weight. The goal is building a forever active lifestyle that you actually enjoy.

If you have spent years on the weight loss roller coaster, this podcast is designed to help you navigate life before starting GLP-1 medications, while using them, and after the weight loss happens.

Daryl also encourages listeners to celebrate their progress. If you are finally seeing results after years of trying, you deserve to acknowledge that. You did not give up on yourself. This may simply be the tool that helps everything else fall into place.

As always, Daryl reminds listeners that conversations about medications should always include their healthcare team and personal physician.
