155: Does your ADHD kid think they're "the bad kid?" And do you agree?

In this emotional episode I share a deeply pivotal moment in my son's ADHD journey. This is the episode for every parent who's said the unplanned, unfiltered thing and immediately hated themselves for it. What happens in our body before that moment, and why it keeps happening.

When we hear "I hate you." or "you're the worst parent." These things come out of tiny mouths during dysregulation and how it hits us like a ton of bricks. I share how this happened to me over the weekend and I break down what I did in response. Not perfectly, but how I helped myself and my son through this really hard moment. My son told me this and I've never forgotten it: I keep escalating until somebody joins me in the fight, because then I'm not the only one doing the bad thing.

This episode is about why the practice matters. Even when it feels like nothing is working, why it matters so much and how it gives our kids a voice they've never been able to access.
