Monday Morning Anchor: Three Breaths to Ease Your Racing Mind

Monday Morning Anchor: Three Breaths to Ease Your Racing Mind

Hey there, I'm Julia, and I'm so glad you've carved out this time for yourself today. You know, it's early Monday morning, and I'm willing to bet your mind is already racing through your week like a squirrel on espresso. Am I close? That's exactly what we're here to untangle together. Before we dive in, I want you to know there's nowhere to be right now except right here. No performance, no productivity goals, just you and me and about ten minutes of genuine ease. Let's start by finding a comfortable seat wherever you are. Maybe that's cross-legged on your floor, maybe it's in your car before work starts, or maybe you're still nestled in bed. There's no wrong answer. Just settle in like you're getting cozy with a good book. Once you're there, let your shoulders drop away from your ears, and take one long, intentional breath in through your nose, and out through your mouth. Feel that? That's the beginning of relaxation. Now here's what we're going to do. I call this the Anchor and Release, and it's become my secret weapon against that Monday morning mental tornado. We're going to use your breath as an anchor, literally tying your wandering thoughts back to the present moment. But here's the fresh twist I love about this practice: we're not forcing anything. We're not gritting our teeth trying to achieve relaxation. Instead, we're going to gently notice what wants to soften on its own. So breathe naturally, and as you do, imagine each exhale as a wave washing away one thing. Not fighting it, just noticing it drift. Tension in your jaw? There it goes. That email you need to send? Watch it float out to sea. The argument from yesterday? Gone with the tide. You're not making anything disappear. You're just standing at the shoreline of your own nervous system, observing what naturally releases. Keep breathing this way. In and out. That's it. Notice how your body feels heavier now, like you're melting slightly into whatever's holding you. This is relaxation in its truest form, not some far-off destination but right here, available to you, one breath at a time. As we wrap up, carry this anchor with you today. Whenever you feel that squirrel energy returning, pause and take three waves of breath. Just three. Your nervous system will remember this feeling and meet you there. Thank you so much for spending this time with me on Relaxation. It truly means the world. If this practice resonated with you, please hit that subscribe button so you don't miss our next session.
