In Sambia ist es nicht einfach, offen über das Thema Menstruation zu sprechen. Deshalb gibt es im Arbeitsrecht eine besondere Regel, die "Muttertag" genannt wird. Diese Regel erlaubt es Frauen, einmal im Monat einen Tag frei zu nehmen. Wichtig ist: Diese Regel gilt nicht nur für Mütter, sondern für alle Frauen. Sie gilt auch für die, die keine Kinder haben. Frauen dürfen den Tag selbst wählen und müssen dafür nicht zum Arzt gehen. Viele Frauen finden diese Regel hilfreich, weil die Menstruation oft mit Schmerzen verbunden ist. Andere Frauen sind aber kritisch. Sie sagen, dass die Regel unklar ist und dass manche Menschen sie ausnutzen könnten. Auch im Internet sprechen viele darüber. Einige sagen, das Gesetz sei gut, weil es Frauen unterstützt. Andere meinen, dass es am Arbeitsplatz auch zu Problemen führen kann.
