The Reverse Culture Shock: No One Warns You About

The Reverse Culture Shock: No One Warns You About

Everyone talks about the excitement of moving abroad the adventure, the new experiences, and the freedom of building a life in another country. But what happens when it's time to come home?

After spending nearly ten years living overseas, I discovered that returning to the United States was an adjustment I never expected. I found myself feeling like a foreigner in my own country, navigating changes in culture, technology, daily life, and even my own sense of belonging.

In this episode, I share my personal journey of reverse culture shock, the emotional challenges of coming home, and why this is a conversation more people need to have. Whether you're currently living abroad, planning to return home someday, or simply curious about the realities of expat life, this episode offers an honest perspective on a side of relocation that is rarely discussed.

Because the journey doesn't end when you come home it simply begins a new chapter.
