Day 117 - Bathing With God Revisited: A World of Pure Imagination (A Binaural Meditation)

In this third episode of Bathing with God Revisited, Glenn turns to Chapter 2, “A World of Pure Imagination,” examining how our sensory systems shape a highly restricted view of the world alongside neuroscientist David Eagleman’s concept of the umwelt and cognitive scientist Donald Hoffman’s interface theory of perception. Now a licensed therapist in Arizona, Glenn revisits the book as a way of tracing the intellectual, spiritual, and psychological path that eventually led him into the therapy profession.

The episode explores the limits of biological perception, how different organisms inhabit entirely different sensory realities, and the provocative claim that our brains trade literal truth for evolutionary survival, while also asking what these ideas might offer therapeutically. For listeners, the conversation invites reflection on cognitive humility, the distinction between our subjective models and objective reality, and how we can use intentional imagination to expand our psychological horizons and loosen the grip of rigid, defensive narratives.

This episode is presented as a theta binaural meditation. Headphones are required to experience the full binaural effect.
