Tony Iommi & Carmine Appice

Tony Iommi joins the podcast to discuss his first solo album in over two decades, 'From the Dark.' The metal icon opens up about working with vocalist Jorn Lande, assembling a band of Birmingham-based musicians including drummer Carl Brazil and bassist Becky Baldwin, and why he chose to make a vocal album instead of the initially planned instrumental record. Tony shares his views on AI in music, the elaborate video for lead single 'World Alone,' and the possibility of live shows. The conversation also touches on emotional territory as Tony reflects on the Back to the Beginning reunion show, losing Ozzy shortly after, and his ongoing health journey. Following that, Carmine Appice drops by to discuss the new Cactus record 'Temple of Blues Volume 2,' which features an all-star cast including Ted Nugent, Billy Sheehan, Eric Gales, Dee Snider, and more. The legendary drummer opens up about his final conversations with John Sykes and the unrealized Blue Murder reunion that almost happened. He talks about his Rod Stewart tribute show, shares wild tour bus stories with Fred Coury, and reflects on staying creative and relevant after nearly six decades in the music business.
