72: Connecting Across Generations with Legacy of a Grandpa

Julie and David sit down with Rick Cognata, founder of Legacy of a Grandpa and author of the new book "Connecting Across Generations: One Conversation at a Time," to talk about what it really means to be an intentional grandparent.

Rick built a following of over 125,000 on Instagram sharing bite sized advice for grandparents, and in this conversation he digs into why he believes grandparenting is the greatest role of his life. The three of them talk through creating core memories instead of just giving gifts, navigating boundaries with adult children (including the Bulitts' own "pantry" code word), staying connected through the awkward teenage years, and why presence matters more than perfection. Rick also shares what prompted him to turn his most popular Instagram reels into a book, and how doing this work has shaped his own marriage.
