The Red Flags We Ignore When We Want to Be Loved

The Red Flags We Ignore When We Want to Be Loved

Sometimes we want a relationship so badly that we talk ourselves out of seeing what’s right in front of us.

In this episode, Karen and Tyler talk about the early red flags we can overlook when we’re excited about a new relationship—and why recognizing those warning signs early can save us from so much heartache later.

They discuss the importance of slowing down, doing your homework on a potential partner, paying attention to patterns, and being willing to hear what the people who love you are seeing. If you have a history of choosing unhealthy or narcissistic relationships, surrounding yourself with trusted friends and family—and having the humility to actually listen to them—can be incredibly important.

This conversation is about learning to recognize the difference between what we hope someone is and who they’re actually showing us they are.

Because sometimes the biggest red flag isn’t that we didn’t see it. It’s that we saw it… and wanted the relationship badly enough to explain it away.
