Can Trauma Live in the Body? Healing, Health and Hope with Dr Naushin Hart

⚠️ Trigger warning: This episode includes conversations about childhood and adult trauma, cancer, chronic illness, mental health and emotional distress. Please listen with care and choose what feels safe for you.

Can emotional trauma affect our physical health, and what role does the nervous system play in healing?

In this episode, Ellie is joined by Dr Noushin Izadifar Hart, a board-certified radiation oncologist with more than three decades of medical experience. Dr Hart brings together conventional medicine, trauma-informed care and a whole-person approach to health and wellbeing.

Together, they explore the connection between emotional stress, unresolved trauma, nervous-system dysregulation and physical health. Dr Hart discusses the importance of looking beyond symptoms, reducing fear around illness and helping people feel informed and empowered within their own healing journey.

They also talk about cancer, chronic illness, prevention, lifestyle, emotional regulation and why caring for the mind, body and nervous system can be such an important part of supporting our overall wellbeing.

This is an open and thought-provoking conversation about trauma, health, resilience and hope.
