Daniel 6–12 | The Lions’ Den and Visions of the End

In this Sleepy Scriptures One-Year Bible episode, we complete the book of Daniel with chapters 6 through 12 from the King James Version.

Daniel’s faithfulness brings him into danger when a royal decree makes prayer to God a crime. Yet Daniel continues his lifelong practice of praying toward Jerusalem, and he is cast into a den of lions. Through the night, God sends His angel and shuts the lions’ mouths, delivering His servant unharmed.

The remaining chapters take us into Daniel’s remarkable prophetic visions. He beholds four great beasts, the Ancient of Days upon His throne, and “one like the Son of man” receiving an everlasting kingdom. Daniel also prays for his people, receives the prophecy of the seventy weeks, encounters a heavenly messenger, and is shown visions reaching toward the time of the end.
