Portugal chief suggests Ronaldo may be back in the team

Portugal's head coach Jorge Jesus and federation president Pedro Proença have extended an unmistakable olive branch to Cristiano Ronaldo, making it abundantly clear that the door to his international comeback remains wide open.
The gesture comes after days of considerable turmoil following the 41-year-old captain's dramatic departure from Portugal's training camp in Copenhagen. Ronaldo's exit stemmed from being benched during a 2-1 Nations League triumph over Norway on September 27 and subsequently discovering he wouldn't feature in the starting lineup against Denmark.

The legendary five-time Ballon d'Or recipient shared on Instagram that he would eventually reveal "the truth" surrounding his decision to leave. Yet, following Sunday's 2-1 win over Norway—which secured Portugal's advancement to the Nations League quarterfinals—Jesus characterized the disagreement as merely a "misunderstanding" and stressed that Ronaldo alone holds the power to decide whether he'll rejoin the squad for November's international fixtures.

Jorge Jesus, Portugal Head Coach, declared on ESPN: "If he wants to, he'll return to the national team. We can talk before the next call-up, but Cris is the one who's going to decide."

Pedro Proença, Portuguese Football Federation President, stated through the Washington Times: "We are talking about the greatest player of all time... What happened was a misunderstanding that needs to be resolved internally."

Despite officials creating favorable conditions for his potential return, the team has demonstrated impressive performance in his absence. AC Milan's Gonçalo Ramos has netted goals in three straight starts while occupying the forward position.

Ronaldo's representatives have remained silent regarding whether the Al-Nassr forward will embrace the opportunity to participate in the upcoming November matches.
