Ep. 138 | The Murder of Colleen Slemmer [F*ck Christa Pike]

Ep. 138 | The Murder of Colleen Slemmer [F*ck Christa Pike]

As consumers of true crime content, you’ve probably seen the name Christa Pike all over the internet lately. You probably already know that she is the woman who recently survived two rounds of lethal injections in a botched execution attempt by the state of Tennessee. If you paid attention to the news over this past Halloween weekend, you’d see that she has made her first public statement since the surviving the executioner’s needle. She told the press, "There hasn't been a moment since that night when I haven't been in pain. My body hurts. My arms hurt. My hands hurt. My throat hurts. I still struggle to speak. And the pain isn't just physical. There is pain in my mind and in my soul."

To me, that statement sounds like a woman seeking some empathy, but what I’d like to know is: where was her empathy for Colleen Slemmer when she brutally tortured Colleen for nearly an hour? Where was her empathy when she beat Colleen to death? Where was her empathy when she ate breakfast the next morning using a piece of Colleen’s skull as a utensil? It was nowhere to be found. So no, I have no empathy for Christa Pike.
