Are You Growing Or Settling?

SEASON 5 EPISODE 34: GROWING OR SETTLING

  • On this episode of SAUNAIE it's Mental Health Monday & We're discussing Are We Growing or Settling? It's been a question we all ask ourselves overtime when we know we've come complacent or haven't seen the growth that we wanted to see. So with this episode we detail what Growth Entails, The Book "Atomic Habits" & Mental Health Statistics.
    • We first kick off the show with 2 Quotes of the Day, the 1st Quote is about "Being Mindful of your Thoughts because they affect your outer world" and our host XO elaborates on this quote. The 2nd quote is about "Being kind to yourself at all times and details the feelings that come from being your own bully."

  • Segment 1: Book of The Month: Atomic Habits by James Clear
  • in this segment XO discusses what he learned from chapters 1 through 5 of "Atomic Habits" from Habits being the compound interest of self-improvement, Getting 1% better daily is beneficial in the long run, The Most Effective Way to change your habits is to focus on who you want to become.
  • XO goes into full detail about chapter and how this has been one of his favorite books this as well as how the book has effected his daily habits/behavior

  • 2nd Segment: Growth Entails
  • Have you been Growing or Settling? Complacent or Making progress?
  • Lately I've been complacent in some areas of life and growing in others. Life gets overwhelming sometimes and tries to test you to see if you're ready to grow into your next blessing. I've faced this challenge periodically throughout life and every time I grow.
  • This is what Growth looks like Creating and Establishing your Alone Time, being alone allows you to see things clearly, you get time to analyze and reflect on where you are and where you want to go.
  • Another step of Growth is Changing or Losing Relationships we always want to keep people in our lives longer than they should, we never spend the time to analyze their if the relationship is a healthy one or toxic one until it's too late.
  • A huge Growth step is Asking yourself the Hard Questions like "Have I Grown?" "Am I being Complacent?" "Who do I want to be?" You have to be honest with yourself when asking and answering these questions.
  • We go into depths with this segment on Growth.

  • 3rd Segment: Mental Health Statistics ( done by the National Alliance of Mental Health )
  • 1 in 5 U.S. adults experience Mental illness each year
  • 1 in 6 U.S. youth aged 6-17 experience a Mental Health Disorder yearly
  • Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death among people aged 10-34
  • Ending this episode with Mental Health Statistics helps put our Mental Health into perspective and opens our eyes to help our community and family.
  • If you or anyone you know is dealing with any Mental illness, please reach out for help or reach out to us and we'll help anyway that we can.

Thank you
