Hellooooo! Welcome to Season 7, Episode 6 of Mads World! Notes on Heartbreak: The Beauty, Pain and Messiness of Love with Annie Lord!

This week I am joined by author and Vogue columnist, Annie Lord! Annie has written for a number of publications including Vice, The Sunday Times, The Independent and she now has a dating column in Vogue.

Annie joins me in this episode to speak all about her brilliant new book, Notes on Heartbreak, which I adored and chewed through cover to cover. The book is a fierce, honest and raw love story told in reverse, beginning with a devastating and unexpected break-up.

As Annie goes through the rollercoaster of a broken heart, her beautiful memoir revisits the past, from the moment she first fell in love, the esoteric jokes and deep tangle of lives in a long-term relationship, to the months that saw the gradual breakdown of a five year long bond. I have to say, I cried a few times reading it (happy and sad tears).

A stunning exploration of love and heartbreak, the book is so much more than a one about one singular break-up. It is an unflinchingly honest and candidly written story of the simultaneous joy and pain of being in love.
