What Does AUTISM Mean?
What does autism mean? I break down the terminology and origins of the term and condition of autism. What does Autism mean to you and what is the autism meaning in English? To answer that we have to look at where the term autism came from and the way it was first used. Autism studies have been conducted since the 1940s and the studies have been done simultaneously in Europe and America at the same time. The term autism refers to a set of neurological conditions in people that create issues and impairments in the daily life. Autism Masking What Is It? - (What YOU NEED To Know)
This is what Autism masking is and everything YOU need to know about it! Autism masking is very interesting occurrence and it is a lot harder to spot it that you may think. Autism masking happens when a person on the autism spectrum is trying to put on a front a personality and play a character to hide the fact that they are struggling in the situation of the neuro typical world. Masking is actually one of the main causes that people on the autism spectrum mainly females do not get an autism diagnosis when they should. But knowing what I’m asking is and how to stop it can be a very useful thing to know when dealing with people on the autism spectrum. Males on the autism spectrum do display masking but I would say that it’s way more prominent in females than males. To learn more about this please check out my YouTube video on this topic. YOU DON’T LOOK AUTISTIC!?
You Don’t Look Autistic!? Oh boy here we go! If I had a £1 for every time I heard someone tell me that I didn’t look autistic I would be a millionaire a long time ago. But why? Why do people say this to autistic individuals? It is just super rude! The answer lies in the education part of societies, as they are not aware of what autism actually is. Because we are presented with Hollywood movies like Rain Man and other autistic characters in film and TV who present only one type of autism traits it leaves out most of the other autistic individuals traits. This, combined with the wrong data publish older generation charities organisations and older (more less informed books) causes the average person to not really grasp or understand the full idea of what autism is. By creating videos, blogs, and other influence content on the internet we are able to make an impact in educating and informing people of the actual full picture of the autism spectrum.
