Where is Chychrun Going? PLUS: Frank breaks down his Super Bowl weekend

The guys are back with a post Super Bowl Sunday edition of the podcast. Frank was in Phoenix for the big game. To start the pod, they talked about that experience and what being in the building was like. Frank also gave his review on the half-time show and talked about his Eagles collapsing in the second half.

After the Super Bowl talk, they got into the other big news that came out of Phoenix this weekend. The Coyotes held Jakob Chychrun out of the lineup for trade-related reasons on Saturday night and it seemed like a deal was about to go down but here we are on Monday morning and Chychrun is still a member of the Coyotes.

What are the Coyotes looking for? Are the LA Kings really the team that’s most likely to land him? Frank gave us some insight into that.

That led to some talk about the three players available in Chicago: Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, and Jake McCabe. Jason wondered if the Carolina Hurricanes could go all in and grab Patrick Kane. Frank thinks they might be looking at Timo Meier.

They then shifted over to the Pacific Division where the Vegas Golden Knights are suddenly in the market for a goaltender. Logan Thompson is hurt but regardless of his health, they’re likely going to be looking for a goalie ahead of the deadline. Frank also thinks they’ll look to add some scoring help and wondered about Patrick Kane as a fit.

The first-ever episode of 'The DFO Rundown' with Frank Seravalli & Jason Gregor is live! Today, the guys started the show by talking about how they enjoyed Super Bowl Sunday before getting into some big stories from around the NHL. Both Jason and Frank were very wrong about the Boston Bruins, who have just one regulation loss so far this season. They also took a quick trip across Canada to touch on some hot topics in Vancouver, Edmonton, and Montreal before welcoming in their first-ever guest, Winnipeg Jets Head Coach Paul Maurice! With Paul, they talked about the Jets' addition of Pierre-Luc Dubois, coaching during the pandemic, and how the Jets organization uses and values analytics.
