Ep. 613: Crossing the Darien Gap on a Motorcycle - Revisited - JD Smith

Ep. 613: Crossing the Darien Gap on a Motorcycle - Revisited - JD Smith

The Pan-American Highway is an 18,000-mile continuous network of roads from the southern tip of South America to the northern tip of Alaska, with the sole exception being the Darien Gap, a 60 mile separation in the road through a nearly impenetrable jungle on the Panama/Colombian border. Most folks opt to go around the gap by boat or plane. Today’s guest, JD Smith, decided to go through the 99 mile long jungle by motorcycle instead. Needless to say, this is not your ordinary two-wheeled adventure.www.rtwmototours.comFacebook @RTWMotoToursInstagram: @jdsmithphxazAthletic Brewing Adventure Grant Application: https://athleticbrewing.com/pages/athletic-brewing-2020-adventure-grantTry CS Instant Coffee for 50% off your first order! Ep. 612: Family of 6 Thru-Hiking the PCT and More - Strawbridge Family

Ep. 612: Family of 6 Thru-Hiking the PCT and More - Strawbridge Family

When a crippling amount of debt kept the Strawbridge family from going on family vacations, they quickly began looking for cheap ways to still enjoy an experience together. That necessity led them to camping and hiking. After realizing that this type of “vacation” was more rewarding the refueling than a tradition trip, they decided to go all in for an experience of a lifetime to celebrate getting back on track financially. That led to the idea of thru-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail as a family. I hope you enjoy this amazing story of great risk, reward, love, and faith. Follow along their 2020 Continental Divide Trail adventure here: Instagram: @strawbridgetrekstrek2650.comFacebook: @strawbridgetreksYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcjYH6S5RzjyCJoNP8CXEKwStrawbridgetreks.comSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/adventure-sports-podcast/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
