The Everyday Sniper Episode 175 Talking Ammo, Merino Wool, Sniper's Hide Competitions, and So much More Welcome to the Everyday Sniper, this is my pre-travel Sniper's Hide Cup episode where I have nothing to say about the match, except that I have nothing to say.  The Rifleman's Team Challenge crew along with Carl Taylor and Clint Sharp are doing all the heavy lifting because I have been so out of pocket its crazy. We talk factory ammo. I just shot the new Made in US Prime Ammo load and I want to go on about that as much as I can. I also shot the factory loads being used to test the APO Sniper's Hide Edition Rifles.  Great stuff there.   We talk Merino wool from Varusteleka.com, I really dig the Merino wool Hoodie and Jacket they sent along.  Plus the added bonus of Scho-Ka-Kola candy from WWII. The Everyday Sniper Episode 174 My Rant on LE Equipment Back from Alaska, this is my June After Action Report.  The Civvy classes we did were excellent. No equipment issues I can recall, nobody needed to default the SH Edition APO Rifle.  But we also did an LE class and that is completely different story. This was not about the shooters, but their equipment that went back to the 1990s.  In my mind this is totally unacceptable for guys who work the harsh wilds of Alaska. Having a working rifle and optic that is older than most computers is just wrong.  The conditions in this part of the country can kill equipment in seconds. It's important to have the right tools for the job.  Hopefully this can light a fire under the departments to step up. Also thanks to David for guiding me on my World's Most Successful Bigfoot Hunt.   Quals, I think quals and standards are very useful, and we need to recognize the benefit of having a very good qual system in place to test standards.  Thanks for listening and being a part of the Everyday Sniper.   Don't forget to comment and share

The Everyday Sniper Episode 173 AK Precision Rifle Class with James and Wyatt Finished our first class from the second block of training here in Alaska.  Had an awesome class, lots of really great shooters.  We brought in two of the students, Wyatt, and James. Both students are from the Lower 48 as if I am not.  But we wanted to get their perspective and talk about the class. This class went fantastic and the students took to their lessons like a duck to water. The Everyday Sniper Episode 172 Return to AK, APO SH Edition Rifle I am back in AK for the next block of classes and I wanted to drop an update on the SH Edition APO rifle. I knocked out a video detailing the system and why we spec'd it the way I did.  I think Ashbury is doing a great job with the package, and things are quickly moving forward from the base system.  Soon we will have paired options and that is very exciting.  This system is moving forward.  Also, I answer a few podbean questions as well as give you insight into my thinking when it comes to comparisons.  Lots of guys continue to ask me my favorite color, and if you listen, the point of the podcast is to give you the tools to make your own buying decisions.  Nobody will pick things in your best interest better than you, so arm yourself with the knowledge being dropped to make those better buying choices. The Everyday Sniper Episode 170 Valkyrie Bolt Action Rifle, Ammunition Quick little upload before I head to Mike's house for a graduation party.  Wanted to expand on my 224 Valkyrie Build as I was able to shoot it at the range this week.  A bit of talk about calibers, ammunition and my thoughts on the subject of diminishing returns on your investment.  This is an investment for a lot of people and I want to make sure you understand I am speaking to the 80% out there and not the top 20%. Shot a couple of videos for Sniper's Hide, a training lesson, two parter, and a public video of the Valkyrie.  Lots of people have interest in the Valkyrie but the fact is, when Federal misfired with the 90gr Ammo, the idea of the caliber misfired with it.  So while I understand the hate with the cartridge from this, I still there is a lot of positives making it a viable caliber for folks. The Everyday Sniper Episode 169 Car Trip Context Discussion In the car on the way home from the range so I decided to drop a podcast.  Shooting some videos at the range today, so I will need to edit that stuff.  There may be a bit of road noize but nothing too crazy.  Context, I am trying to put things into context.  We drop a lot knowledge bombs and shrapnel can spread to other discussions.  I want to make sure you understand if we talk one app things dont always translate to other apps and vice versa.  Also remember, you true BC at 800 and not 100, BC does nothing at 100 yards.   Clarity and context is the name of the game.  Thanks for sharing and commenting, and being a part of the Everyday Sniper podcast.

The Everyday Sniper Episode 168 Back from AK, My Wrap Up Made it back from Alaska over the weekend, took a red-eye flight and landed in Denver on Saturday Morning.  Just wanted to touch on the high points of the trip. Go over the pro and cons to what I saw, especially in terms of gear.  It's important to. understand what quality gear brings to the table.  Making the right buying decisions will pay off in the long run.  Again, we answer some of the pod bean app questions, you guys are bringing a lot of smart questions to the app so I want to make sure I address them.
