The Everyday Sniper Podcast: Safe House Recording Post SHOT

Second time recording in the Safe House. The compressor on my channel is a bit weird, I fixed it after the fact, but overall, it is much better we have a board; I just needed to make a few more tweaks.

Post SHOT discussion with Chris regarding my observations at SHOT SHOW. I was awed by the lever guns, dug the improvements with the air rifles, and really liked the Daniel Defense H9 pistol.

Then we went into a wind discussion; Chris talked about his wind strategy a bunch, which was a really good discussion. After I finished, I found the compressor setting to remove it, so the minor fluctuation is not gonna happen after this episode. Every dang board is slightly different, I had to tweak this guy a bit more. Don't forget our classes, we have classes happening this Spring and Summer, so head over to Sniper's Hide to sign up.

The Everyday Sniper Episode 223, Mike Bush Vudoo 22s

The Everyday Sniper Episode 223, Mike Bush Vudoo 22s Welcome to the Everyday Sniper Podcast, in this episode I talk with Mike Bush from Vudoo Gunworks. Makers of the great 22s we see.  The 22 sides of precision rifle shooting as grown tremendously over the years and Vudoo leads the pack. Mike is a long time Sniper's Hide contributor and Vudoo has a great thread with over 90 pages of 22 discussions.  22s are the fastest-growing segment of the precision rifle shooting world. There is so much you can do with a 22.  Logistically I find it a much friendly side of the sport.  I want to thank Mike for a great interview and thanks to all the listeners of the Everyday Sniper podcast  #Vudoogunworks #snipershide #EDSPodcast

The Everyday Sniper Episode 222, 100 Yard Zeros

The Everyday Sniper Episode 222, 100 Yard Zeros

The Everyday Sniper Episode 222, 100 Yard Zeros Welcome to 2020 and the first new episode of the new year.  We are excited to be back and I want to jump right in with precision rifle training.   In this new years' episode I have two areas of focus:  100 yard zeroing  managing your data I believe every rifle 338 and smaller should have a 100 yard zero. Thinking about this, I also want to look at the type of target we use to zero that may have a bearing.  With this in mind, I have been looking at both target design and how we use them.   Any way we slice it, we have to work at 100 yards and that work we do there is important.  It sets the tone for the rest of our shooting.  If we have good groups centered up, we are money, if we are off-center and opened up bigger than a minute, we may run into some trouble down the road.  I want to be efficient when teaching students at 100 yards.  It can be boring so it's important to focus on tasks being put forth vs just trying to get the round count up.  I am considering too, the type of target, circles vs the square, vs a diamond, as I think it matters.  Next is managing your data, I made a post on Sniper's Hide about managing your data so be sure to check it out.  I think it will help some put down their phones and think about the work to be accomplished.  Sniper's Hide Home Page  Sniper's Hide Forum  Thanks for listening, thanks for sharing thanks for being a part of the Everyday Sniper Podcast  #EDSPodcast #snipershide #SAF

The Everyday Sniper Episode 218 Innovation and Stuff

The Everyday Sniper Episode 218 Innovation and Stuff

The Everyday Sniper Episode 218 Innovation and Stuff As we come to the close of 2019 I was doing an article on innovation. The article is designed to drop right after SHOT Show, so I was able to get behind the scenes with a few products and companies so I wanted to touch on what I look for in terms of innovation. Mainly this episode talks about bipods, suppressors, and some of the accessories we see creeping up.  The Victor Company stuff, changes to the way we engage targets.  Looking out why we innovate.  You know how the saying goes, innovate or die. But talking bipods, suppressors and stuff.  Sorry about the distractions, with so few hours in the day you have to do what you can when you can.  I can't control the doorbell sometimes and it totally blew my train of thought. Thanks for listening, Thanks for sharing, thanks for being a part of the Everyday Sniper Podcast

The Everyday Sniper Episode 216 Post Black Friday Gear Talk

The Everyday Sniper Episode 216 Post Black Friday Gear Talk

The Everyday Sniper Episode 216 Post-Black Friday Gear Talk Did you score on Black Friday, or did you skip the shopping altogether?  I scored a few items right around the Holidays,   TriggerCam  Victor Company AX Rails AXHR ColeTac Nylon Products  Podmic  Training Time is a Happy Time  Those are the items of interest in this podcast, another area of focus is my bitch about the state of the 338LM.  I think people forcing the 300gr bullet in a 338LM on us ruined the caliber for many because the heavier bullet does not work as advertised, especially with people pushing it so slow.  I give my continued observations on speed overweight again, in my opinion speed wins.    The 338LM should be the ultimate sniping round, but going to the 300gr bullet handicapped it by a wide margin and ruined it for a lot of people.  Go back in time and listen to some of my older podcasts on stepping down in bullet weight vs the speed gains. I think you will find speed kills and it works better when you bring the speed back into the equations.  Too many shooters default to the heaviest bullet of the class, they need to revisit that and see what a lighter bullet at increased speeds will do for you.  Pretty mellow podcast, hope you enjoy,   Don't forget to comment.  Cheers,
