This work represents a unique examination of long-term evolutionary change in human biology, culture, and technology, as it pertains to the question of “UFOs” and “Extraterrestrials.” More specifically, this study carefully considers the possibility that the individuals described in reliable reports of close encounters, may represent our distant human descendants, returning from the future to study us in their own evolutionary past. By reexamining this subject matter in the context of an original, falsifiable theory, which has undergone rigorous scientific scrutiny, the objective is to begin a new and more informed discussion among believers and skeptics alike.As an anthropologist who has worked on and directed numerous archaeological digs in Africa, France, and throughout the United States, it is easy to conceptualize just how much more could be learned about our own evolutionary history, if we currently possessed the technology to visit past periods of time. This would undoubtedly facilitate in-depth, in-person analyses of the enigmatic, non-preservable aspects of our hominin ancestors. Furthermore, with the accelerating pace of change in science, technology, and engineering, it is likely that humans of the distant future may someday develop the knowledge and machinery necessary to return to the past. Modern and past human groups would only be capable of comprehending the biology, culture, and technology of these extratempestrials in a limited capacity, as we represent a far more primitive stage of their remote ancestral past. However, through a comprehensive analysis of consistent patterns of long-term biocultural change throughout human evolution - as well as recent advances in our understanding of time and time travel - we may begin to consider this future possibility in the context of a currently unexplained phenomenon.Many changes characterize human evolution, but it is primarily tenacious shifts toward habitual upright walking, changes in brain size and shape, facial reduction, reduced body hair, higher intelligence, and the development of increasingly complex tools and culture that most define our lineage. These changes occurred throughout hominin evolution, and have persisted in spite of marked modification to our subsistence strategy, climate, ecology, environment, and system of social, economic, and political organization. Furthermore, from credible reports provided by sound-minded individuals who have experienced a “close encounter,” the extratempestrials observed are ubiquitously described as bipedal, hairless, human-like beings, with large brains, large eyes, small noses and mouths, culture, social organization, the ability to communicate with us in our own languages, and who possess technology advanced beyond, but clearly built upon, our own. Coupled with a thorough understanding of the past and modern human condition, these accounts point to the continuation of established biological and cultural trends here on Earth, long into the distant future.Dr. Michael P. Masters is a professor of biological anthropology at Montana Tech in Butte, Montana. An exploration of New Zealand’s Maori cosmology and how it relates to classic ancient symbolic traditions around the world• Shows how Maori myths, symbols, cosmological concepts, and words reflect symbolic elements found at Göbekli Tepe in Turkey• Demonstrates parallels between the Maori cosmological tradition and those of ancient Egypt, China, India, Scotland, and the Dogon of Mali in Africa• Explores the pygmy tradition associated with Maori cosmology, which shares elements of the Little People mythology of Ireland, including matching mound structures and common folk traditionsIt is generally accepted that the Maori people arrived in New Zealand quite recently, sometime after 1200 AD. However, new evidence suggests that their culture is most likely centuries older with roots that can be traced back to the archaic Göbekli Tepe site in Turkey, built around 10,000 BC.Extending his global cosmology comparisons to New Zealand, Laird Scranton shows how the same cosmological concepts and linguistic roots that began at Göbekli Tepe are also evident in Maori culture and language. These are the same elements that underlie Dogon, ancient Egyptian, and ancient Chinese cosmologies as well as the Sakti Cult of India (a precursor to Vedic, Buddhist, and Hindu traditions) and the Neolithic culture of Orkney Island in northern Scotland. While the cultural and linguistic roots of the Maori are distinctly Polynesian, the author shows how the cosmology in New Zealand was sheltered from outside influences and likely reflects ancient sources better than other Polynesian cultures. In addition to shared creation concepts, he details a multitude of strikingly similar word pronunciations and meanings, shared by Maori language and the Dogon and Egyptian languages, as well as likely connections to various Biblical terms and traditions. He discusses the Maori use of standing stones to denote spiritual spaces and sanctuaries and how their esoteric mystery schools are housed in structures architecturally similar to those commonly found in Ireland. He discusses the symbolism of the Seven Mythic Canoes of the Maori and uncovers symbolic aspects of the elephant-headed Hindu god Ganesha in Maori cosmology.The author also explores the outwardly similar pygmy traditions of Ireland and New Zealand, characterized by matching fairy mound constructions and mythic references in both regions. He reveals how the trail of a group of Little People who vanished from Orkney Island in ancient times might be traced first to Scotland, Ireland, and England and then on to New Zealand, accompanied by signature elements of the global cosmology first seen at Gobekli Tepe.Laird Scranton is an independent software designer who became interested in Dogon mythology and symbolism in the early 1990s. The enigmatic Palpa lines in Peru are not as famous as the Nazca lines, but these puzzling lines and geoglyphs that can only be properly viewed from the air are equally interesting.Archaeological examinations reveal the Palpa lines are older than the Nazca lines and were most likely created by the Paracas culture, an Andean society that existed about 800 BCE and 100 BCE, in what today is the Ica Region of Peru.The Palpa lines are located in between the towns of Sacramento, Pinchango, and Llipata. The purpose of the lines and geoglyphs is unknown. There are as many as 600 geoglyphs of giant size and they represent a series of human and animal zoomorphic figures, including the Familia Real (Royal Family), a group of eight figures on a hillside.The purpose of the Palpa lines and geoglyphs is unknown and just like the Nazca lines, these ancient carvings are regarded as one of archaeology's greatest enigmas because of their quantity, nature, size and continuity. Scientists suggest the geoglyphs had ritual astronomical functions.These giant geoglyphs and lines must have been of great importance to our ancestors and they were undoubtedly not easy to create.
