Portable Relaxation Meditation

Portable Relaxation Meditation by Calgary Mindfulness

Many listeners write and say, "I need to relax," or, "I can't meditate but I relax doing other things." First of all, ALL input is needed and welcome so thank you for your questions!

To clarify, relaxation is a possible and wonderful side-effect of meditation, but not its purpose or goal. For those meditating who are experiencing chronic illness and pain, or severe grief or loss, there's no amount of meditating that relaxes you. The meditation may be an important tool for developing compassion and equanimity for our condition, or the condition of others, and that's about as close to "relaxed" as you're gonna feel.

Having said that, here is what I've described as a Portable Relaxation Meditation. Sometimes if stress seems to be getting the best of me, the anchors I review during this practice bring me and my family members closer to a state of equanimity, compassion and acceptance.
