037. Hannes Namberger | Lavaredo Ultra Trail 2022 winner. How to perfectly execute an ultra trail race

Hannes Namberger is a professional trail and ultra runner from Germany sponsored by Dynafit.

On the last weekend of June he won Lavaredo Ultra Trail, a 120km - 6000m of elevation race in the Italian Dolomites and one of the most famous and iconic ultra trail races in the world, this year part of the UTMB World Series.

We talk about his race strategy, including pacing, nutrition and hydration, how he prepared for it and how he had to restructure his training and racing plans after he got Covid, only 6 weeks before his goal.

We get very specific into training, talking about specific trail workouts, tapering for a trail race, cross training, winter training and more.

We also talk about balancing an elite runner's career with a normal job, how he got into the sport of trail and ultra running after being an alpine skier, how he's recovering from Lavaredo and how he's planning the next big goal of his season, UTMB.
