Rams Review meets...Pooooooooooooom!

Jason and Cory sit down with Derby County goalkeeping legend Mart Poom to discuss life and his career in the game. We discuss what made him want to be a goalkeeper and what it was like playing behind the Iron Curtain in the Cold War. We discuss frosty relations with the USSR and how that impacted Mart's early career. We talk about his moves to Finland and around Estonia and what led to his move to Portsmouth. We discuss JIm Smith and the impact he had on Mart's career and what he was like as a person and as a coach and what eventually led him to join Derby County. We talk about his debut match against Manchester United, when he didn't even have a proper kit! We talk about his love for Derby County and the supporters. And what ultimately led to his departure. Of course, we discuss that goal against The Rams for Sunderland on his return to Pride Park. We also discuss his move to Arsenal and receiving a Champions League medal! We then talk about his move to Watford and what was behind his decision to eventually put up the gloves and retire.

We discuss his international career and his pride in playing for Estonia. We also discuss his current role as the goalkeeping coach of the Estonian national team and how he balance's being a father and a coach (his son plays for Estonia as well!)
