Scams, Cash, and Fake Friendships with Lauren Gordon

Scams, Cash, and Fake Friendships with Lauren Gordon

I've "seen Lauren around" through common friends of social media and we've liked each other's posts...but what really sealed our friendship is when we got scammed by the same person!

So in this episode, we decided to talk about that experience and treated it as a therapy session (lol) to let all our feelings out, tell you how it happend, and help you avoid these scams and fake friendships altogether.

Here's the highlights:

  • What is a scam and how do you define a scam
  • What are the common signs of scams (with real life, practical examples)
  • Red flags from people, investments, and timing (take down notes!)
  • Things that aren't a scam but sound like one
  • Scammy things that people do online - you've seen some of our friendly neighborhood bizniz coaches do these haha
  • How to process the feeling of being scammed and how to move on without feeling stupid or embarrassed
  • Differentiating gambling vs. investments + loose tips on what you should invest in which are NOT scams

We truly loved recording this episode and we hope you like it! We've put a positive twist from being scammed, and hope that you can also view things in the same perspective.

Being a Working Woman, Mom, Wife-to-Be, and a Little Bit of Reality TV

Being a Working Woman, Mom, Wife-to-Be, and a Little Bit of Reality TV

Join me and Emily Buetler as we navigate through life as a working woman, a wife-to-be, a new mom, a friend, someone in their self healing journey. One thing that stood out to me when I approached her is that despite her and I growing up with very different backgrounds, we mostly face the same fears, challenges, and feelings as we go through our day-to-day experiences. Bonus: Emily was featured on the famous Netflix show Below Deck (Mediterranean). Wanna know what that's like? She tells it all! Emily was born and raised in a family of workaholics and became one herself. She has sold over $300 million dollars worth of real estate and became a self-made millionaire in her 20's. At the age of 29 she had an epiphany that no amount of money, success, (or man) was going to make her happy. She's been on a self-healing journey since. She's still a successful Realtor and investor but with a lot less anxiety and depression. She is recently engaged to an amazing partner, Noah, and a new mother to her adorable baby boy, Wylder. She is happy, healthy and thriving...most days. Check out all the amazing things she's doing, and the gorgeous homes she features on her Instagram: @emily.beutler.

Let's Talk About Procrastination - The Good, Bad, and the Hopeful

Let's Talk About Procrastination - The Good, Bad, and the Hopeful

Let's face it, procrastination is something that affects all of us. It's a common enemy that pops up just when we need to get stuff done. But here's the thing, even the most successful entrepreneurs have it, so it's nothing to be ashamed of. We all have those moments where we just can't seem to focus on the task at hand. So, what's the deal? Why do we procrastinate, and how can we overcome it? Josh Thomas, a business consultant who has worked with over 5,000 entrepreneurs in 30 industries shares some of his thoughts with us. Here are some of the questions I asked him:- What is procrastination and why do we do it? - How does procrastination affect our personal lives and our business lives? (Note: watch out for the powerful Disney metaphor.)- What are some triggers for procrastination, and how can we identify and overcome it? Is there a "pre-emptive strike" that we can do?- What are some strategies to avoid/ manage procrastination: time management and mindset-wise? Habits, routines, tools?- How can we reframe our relationship with procrastination and learn to see it as an opportunity for growth rather than a cause for failing?- What role does self discipline play in this and how can we cultivate that?- How can we balance the desire to achieve our goals and the need to take breaks, without falling into a cycle of procrastination?- What advice can you give to someone who struggles with chronic procrastination, and feel stuck in a cycle of avoidance and guilt? And also, what is the QUICKEST WAY to leave procrastination behind? This was such a soul-enriching conversation and I am sure you'll love it. Pop this episode on a gym session, a long drive, or a meaningful solo meal. You won't regret it. And yeah, probably don't procrastinate on that. ;) **Find Josh Thomas on all social platforms @jtliterally. Also check out his coaching program, Factor One.
