DeFi by Design EP58: Exploring Zk-Rollups & Modular Blockchains w Syscoin

Scaling has often been a major pain point of Ethereum, the largest smart contract platform. However, the future is going to be a hotbed of innovation as Layer 2 scaling solutions such as Arbitrum, Optimism, Metis and Boba have been on the rise.

Today we sat down and caught up with Jagdeep Sidhu, a core developer for Syscoin and Bradley Stephenson, a Syscoin Foundation Board Member. We discussed Syscoin’s journey over the last few years and how they emphasized on identifying the direction for Syscoin and executing on it without rushing things to market. We also covered the various scaling solutions that are currently available such as zk rollups and optimistic rollups. Lastly, we dived into how despite the emergence of new and more attractive chains, Syscoin has evolved, continued to innovate and managed to stay true to their mission of becoming the scalable, suitable and secure blockchain for the future by leveraging the Bitcoin security model.

The future is going to be a hotbed of innovation with centralized experiences and business models enhanced and made possible through decentralized infrastructures such as Syscoin that solve the scaling problem.
