The Future of Bitcoin with Jeff Garzik

After working with Satoshi in the early years, and almost 15 years of crypto experience, legend Jeff Garzik shares his story in this exclusive interview. Recently, we did an educational deep dive into several teams working on extending Bitcoin with innovative mechanism designs and Bitcoin L2s on Bitcoin and Beyond. This conversation is a phenomenal next episode in that series.

Today, Hemi is attempting to unify Bitcoin and Ethereum. A Bitcoin L2 with customizations to more deeply integrate the top two blockchain ecosystems; Hemi is based on two core innovations: the hVM incorporates new byte codes into the EVM that talk directly to Bitcoin, and Proof of Proof (PoP) consensus which allows Hemi to achieve "superfinality" on Bitcoin.

The Bitcoin and Ethereum communities have long been at odds debating the true purpose of cryptocurrency, and best design principles to bring about mass adoption. Jeff calls Bitcoin the "root of the crypto tree" and Ethereum "the grand central station of crypto". With Hemi technology, its possible to unite the two blockchains and maybe the two communities once and for all.
