Dr. Richard-Davis is an executive director at the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences and a professor of reproductive endocrinology and infertility in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

This book is intriguing and informative because it's not only based on the science of infertility but it's also grounded in real personal experiences. Each chapter is written with a personal perspective, making it relatable to everyone. Dr. Richard Davis shares how the authors came together, including how lead author Rebecca Clark convinced her to write the book.

Dr. Richard Davis emphasizes how choices are at the heart of everything when it comes to fertility. Reproduction is a natural part of life, and when it doesn't happen, patients go through a process similar to that of death and dying. Acknowledging and accepting the problem is the first step, followed by negotiations with partners about how to approach the problem. Choices are at the heart of almost every decision related to fertility, and going through an unsuccessful cycle can be emotionally charged and expensive.
