It's a little confusing, but the New Jersey Devils acquired the Dallas Stars' fourth-round pick in 2026 for facilitating an existing trade between the Calgary Flames and Stars for Chris Tanev. At the end of the day, it doesn't cost the Devils anything. However, they now have an extra draft pick that they could use in a future deal. Tom Fitzgerald might have something in the works, whether it's big or small.
