PART ONE TWITTER SPACE FAN REACTION - Watford 2 - 3 Huddersfield Town
And the hits just keep on coming..... after the derby result the faithful come to Vicarage Road in the hope of a reaction from the playing squad to both the previous game but also the management comments made about them. The hope is that we would see character, resilience, determination, energy and a determination to win each individual battle. What we saw wasn't that bar a very honourable mention for Yasser Asprilla our youngest player (more youth had been expected to be involved but was not) - instead we saw our season again presented in microcosm and we will now go to Coventry City without our recognised first choice keeper after Bachmann was shown a red card. However the stories of the day were as much off the field as they were on it. The crowd responding to the current regime vocally and in unison. In response the stewards set about people with banners calling for Gino to leave. Lots to talk about plus we find out who Wendover Horn has a crush on and what he was having for dinner that night!!! Finally it's alright to alright to be cynical about the July Q&A - we get it and we're not offended - although Alan does elevate Pete's Chimp comment to Gimp - but Pete denies neither allegation! :-) This Podcast has been created and uploaded by Do Not Scratch Your Eyes. The Opposition View - Coventry City (Away)
Recorded ahead of the disastrous home performance against Huddersfield, we recorded this looking ahead to Monday's trip Coventry with David from the "Whats the craic" podcast. We discuss amongst other things Coventry's season, their change in ownership, Mike Ashley, Victor Gyokeres and other players, Mark Robins, John Eustace, Marvin Sordell (who Justin fails to recognise) and exactly how fast Mickey Quinn wasn't. We give predictions for the result which will work out about as well as normal and finally we played a game that Peter had come up with based upon the opposition badge that had very few rules but included the redemption of Christ, sinless sacrifices, dragon slaying in the Coventry area, Lady Godiva, where St George was born, Pete's pants and elephants! Even for us this got quite surreal! Something to be going on with whilst we edit the Huddersfield Post Match twitter spaces This Podcast has been created and uploaded by Do Not Scratch Your Eyes. DO NOT SCRATCH YOUR EYES - FINANCE REPORT SPECIAL
You're not expected to listen to this - especially if you just want to follow the football and don't care for following the financial performance of the club! Here Pete goes through his interpretation of the accounting report released last Friday 31st March which covers the 2021-2022 accounting year for the club. This is Pete's genuine reading of the accounts published and we are more than happy to have any more qualified, forensic analysis to contest the statements made in this podcast, however we think a number of questions around these finances will be put to Scott and Gino when they meet with supporters in the summer. The full report is available from the club website WFC-Signed-Accounts-30.06.2022-FILING.pdf (watfordfc.com) COYH!!!! This Podcast has been created and uploaded by Do Not Scratch Your Eyes. PART TWO TWITTER SPACE FAN REACTION - Luton Town 2 - 0 Watford
The second half of the Derby day aftermath sees a couple of reports from Non league grounds, a fabulous call from Paul Holly asking about the owners exit strategy or lack of it and we have some really rather sweary reviews. Finally Justin finishes off by telling us about seeing his favourite TV series filing locations! Massive thanks to all our listeners, lurkers and contributors as always. TWITTER SPACE FAN REACTION - Luton Town 2 - 0 Watford
Please note there is very strong language and quite a bit of it...... The first half of the no-show at Kenilworth Road. Supposedly superior individuals were shown up to be an inferior team unit against a side that has been put together on a fraction of the cost and with a Manager who was discarded by our club's hierarchy after 10 league games this season. Of course losing in a derby is supposed to hurt and this certainly did - but does it also go towards questions that should be put at the owners door. Also we touch on the finance statement released yesterday briefly but this will covered in another podcast soon. Massive thanks to all our listeners, lurkers and contributors as always. Part Two out tomorrow. The Opposition View - Luton Town (Away)
So it's that Derby tine of the year - whether you call it the the M1 or Herts/Beds Derby - its the match you just don't want to lose. We speak to Billy again from the Oak Road Hatter podcast about last Octobers game and everything that has happened since from Rob Edwards joining them and Slaven Bilic leaving us and how they are very content with the way things have gone since Nathan Jones departure. It's all measured and informed and then Justin and Carl weigh in and things all go off kilter, Pete is, as ever, too weeks late with his opposition "Star Man" assessment but as Carl puts it - "that's still just wrong"). We look at players who have played for both clubs and find out who is a Mr Logic (from Viz) lookalike and who is only awarded a lanyard. Carl makes a depressing prediction which Justin disagrees with until its explained to him and then he agrees with it again. Big important game - but the usual nonsense from us! COYH(orns)!!!
