Rider Waite Tarot Card Deck
=======================
I learned how to read cards on the Rider Waite Tarot Deck and the instructor I had said its easiest to have everyone on the same deck when explaining the symbolism. With time, I was able to transfer that knowledge to other decks. If you are a beginner at learning Taro, below are some links to the Rider Waite Tarot Deck to follow along if you need a set of cards. I earn a small referral commission from these links from Amazon.

About Carrie and @QuickLearnQuests
===============================
I have been reading Tarot cards for 30 years for fun. I took a two and a half day course, and I was so excited to be able to take the mystery out of getting readings done for myself, and to be able to do them myself. We also have social media channels, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and all major podcast distributors such as Spotify, Apple, Audible and many others under the handle @quickLearnQuests. I am focusing mostly on my podcasts and YouTube at the moment, but I will expand into more social media more consistently when I find my feet.

Here is the transcript:

Welcome to the "Memorizing Tarot Cards" podcast, your three-minute lessons on learning and memorizing each card using symbolism. I use the Rider Waite Tarot, but you can view the card while you listen using your own Tarot card deck or a computer. Today, we're exploring the King of Swords, focusing on reversals. Let's start with the divine meaning of the card and then its meaning when reversed.

The King of Swords upright embodies clarity, authority, and logical thinking. He is a master of strategy and communication, representing a person who leads with integrity and reason. However, this intense energy can become distorted when the King of Swords appears reversed. It can point to a misuse of power, rigid thinking, or being overly harsh and cold. The reversed King of Swords often signals a time when communication might be clouded or influenced by manipulation, whether that's from yourself or someone else. It's a call to re-evaluate how you use your words and authority and to ensure they're being used ethically and transparently.

So what does that mean when we see the King of Swords reversed in a reading? When the King of Swords reversed appears in a reading, it's often a sign that you must reassess how you're communicating or how someone is communicating with you. This card invites you to find balance and ensure that communication is constructive rather than damaging. The King of Swords reversed can also point to a lack of honesty or integrity. Whether it's subtle manipulation or outright deception, this card serves as a reminder that actions motivated by dishonesty or misuse of power often have consequences. The reversed King of Swords asks you to reflect on your actions or to be wary of others who may not have your best interests at heart.

So, what is the best way to memorize the King of Swords in reverse? Tying the card to a personal experience helps me remember it. For example, my reversed King of Swords moment is remembering a manager I had on my first contract. He was fair but tough. He was also someone who elevated people, and he was also someone who tended to be more on the damaging side of communication when things weren't going well instead of constructive. I learned a lot from him and liked working with him. I didn't like the times I accidentally upset him, but it was rare. However, most of the time, he mentored and pushed me. I got a tremendous amount of experience under his wing. When the king of swords was upright, he was an authority that I didn't challenge, but he was fair and wise. When the King of Swords was reversed, I walked on eggshells, kept my head down, and approached him carefully if needed. He had integrity but a lot of fire, which was good or difficult, depending on the day.

That's all for today's episode of The King of Swords reversed. Remember, to memorize tarot, keep practicing tarot. Thanks for listening.
